Its is built with strong gauge steel that is covered in a graphite colored protective finish that fends off all moisture, scratches, and general ware and tear. The full commercially rated machine and its upholstery are built to withstand hours upon hours of use every single day.
Linear leg presses are an amazing substitute for the front or back squat. The weight comes down linearly as the name suggests compared to another type of leg press which guides the weight in a circular curved motion, not quite a straight line.
This results in a more accurate representation of the weight that is loaded on the machine for use. You may put 500 Lbs. on a leg press, but because the weight doesn't go directly in a straight line, you are actually pressing much less than 500 Lbs. On a linear leg press the machine gives you the weight straight up, as you see it on the bar, making it feel harder.
